At 3.15am GMT on Friday 26th October, i reached the summit of Kilimanjaro, the first step in my challenge to climb the seven summits!

my name is Ailsa Wright and i am a 18 year old student from Northampton... its my dream to climb mountains, and so i have set myself the challenge  to climb the 7 summits, the highest peak on each continent in the next few years!

These Summits are:

EVEREST- Asia  , KILIMANJARO- Africa, ACONCAGUA- south america  , ELBRUS- Europe, DENALI- north america, VINSON- antarctica , KOSCIUSZKO- australasia.                                                                                                                  

.    So many people dont beleive in what young people can do, so i want to prove them all wrong, as well as showing that with determination and hard work even a 5ft4' girl can scale the heights of the world

i am raising for the make a wish foundation... an amazing charity which grants magical wishes to life threateningly  ill children....

   i chose the Make A Wish Foundation, as when asking my friends for suggestions, a few of them told me about young friends or family who had passed away,i am incredably lucky to have never had to experience the loss of a family member, let alone at such a young age, so this compelled me to raise for a childrens charity....!    i  was then suggested the make a wish foundation.. which im sure you will agree is an amazing charity,    so i am raising money for families like my friends all over the country, and their amazingly brave children.

Iif you live in the northampton or  milton keynes areas... come along to one of the fundraising events!! 

I am also looking for local companies to sponsor me in the first stages, to help raise the money for equipment, and the treks to aconcagua kilimanjaro and elbrus...

i am contributing as much as i can to this myself, but the costs surpass what i can earn whilst still in education, fundraising and working.

 I have pledged that through donating my time and money to the make a wish foundation and other charities in years to come i will try to match the costs needed to pay for the expeditions. )
