Story
Hello,
thanks for looking up my fundraising page. Well, it's that time of year again and I am shortly off on my fifth successive long distance ride for charity.
On June 22nd I am trying to raise money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth. My Dad was cared for at the Hospice and I want to continue to raise money for them by completing a cycle ride that involves three different countries.
With my old friend Steve Theaker we will be starting our ride from Pau, France close to the foothills of the Pyrenees. By the end of day two we plan to have climbed the hard road over the Pyrenees and freewheeled into Pamplona, Spain for a spot of light refreshment.
From Pamplona we will be heading West across Spain until we cross the border with Portugal. From there we will follow the River Douro all the way to our final destination of Porto.
It is about 650 miles, most of it uphill as far as I am concerned, but for a worthy cause.
The whole trip is funded entirely out of our own pocket, so any donations you are kind enough to give, apart from admin fees on this site, go directly to the charity.
While we are experiencing difficult times in the UK, nothing can be as distressing as the trauma that a terminal illness brings to all concerned. The Garden House Hospice serves as a fantastic friend during the most trying of times.
Anything you can muster up out of your pockets will be gratefully recieved.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Garden House Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
