Moebius Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder which to date, has no cure. It affects primarily the 6th & 7th cranial nerves, which means that those with the condition are unable to move their faces (can't smile, frown, suck, grimace or blink eyes). We aim to raise £250,000 to fund research into the cause of Moebius.

Story

<p>Saturday - York - Bridlington, 60 miles. They made it. Thankfully weather not so hot today and not so many hills to climb. Met up with 2 of their families at Burton Agnes Hall for well earned cake and only 9 miles to go. Malcolm's 12 year old nephew Morgan wanted to cycle the last mile with them for Gemma and met up with them just short of the end. 4 very weary, but happy guys at the end of their trip - Gemma very proud of all of them. And so are we - thank you Malcolm, Colin, Guy &amp; Simon - it really means a lot! Jo x</p> <p>Friday - Day 2 completed - made it to York, 110 miles down, 60 to go. It was Hot Hot Hot today, and bottoms are starting to get very sore - but the worst is over and it's all (mostly!) downhill from here. Thanks for all your support - target now reached which is amazing.</p> <p>Thursday - Well, that's the first day done! 50 miles cycled, they survived the hills, mainly! Treated themselves to a cider and slice of cake a few miles from Grassington so they can't feel that bad!! Grassington to York, 60 miles, tomorrow! Thank you so much for all your kind donations. 81% of target reached and climbing.....</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 140%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="line-height: 140%; font-family: Arial; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt;">A group of dads, Malcolm Duncan, Colin Shepherd, Simon Wilsdon&nbsp;and Guy&nbsp;Cooper&nbsp;(with road support from Dave Tinkler) are cycling the Way of the Roses bike ride - 170 miles from Morecambe to Bridlington - over 3 days at the beginning of June to&nbsp;raise money for the Moebius Research Trust (MRT) charity.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 140%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="line-height: 140%; font-family: Arial; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 140%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="line-height: 140%; font-family: Arial; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt;"><a href="http://www.wayoftheroses.info/route/">http://www.wayoftheroses.info/route/</a></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 140%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="line-height: 140%; font-family: Arial; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 140%; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="line-height: 140%; font-family: Arial; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10.5pt;">Malcolm's daughter Gemma has Moebius Syndrome, a very rare condition that affects about 200 people in the UK. This means there is very&nbsp;little research into it. The MRT has been set up to raise money to fund research into what causes this condition.
