Having run the New York Marathon last November, I must be mad as have now signed up for the London Marathon on April 13th running for CP Sport again - so will be 2 marathons in 6 months which will be a major achievement for me having only started running a couple of years ago.
I'm running in memory of my nephew Howard who had Cerebral Palsy - he was a total star and touched the lives of everyone he met - sadly he's no longer with us but the charity I'm running for - Cerebral Palsy Sport - provides opportunities for people of all ages, like Howie, to have fun and develop mobility and self-confidence through sport. Being able to participate in sport makes such a difference to those who suffer from this disability.
I'm organising a CHARITY PARTY NIGHT with AUCTION to raise funds on Friday, 14 March here in Bude at Adventure International - if you are able to come it would be great to see you - should be a good night :) Many fabulous auction items have already been donated by celebrities and local businesses, including a signed Gloucester Rugby Shirt, a limited edition Beryl Cook signed print, signed 2008 Ben Ainslie - World Champion and Triple Olympic Medallist - Racing Shirt, signed European Athletics Champ Mo Farah vest, and signed print from rugby legend Gareth Edwards, rugby tickets, golf days, luxury short breaks, sports clothing, theme park entries, a hair and make up makeover and much much more – you could even have a Maid for the Morning and a Man to do your Ironing!
Really hope to see as many of you as possible there - if not, please support either my race or my pre-race detox - the month before the race - this will be a challenge in itself!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cerebral Palsy Sport will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, please tick the gift aid box as an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you – well worth doing :-) You can sponsor me through this justgiving website but if you have time, take a look at the Cerebral Palsy Sport website www.cpsport.org to find out more info on the work they are doing.
