St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides tailored end of life care both in the community and at our Hospice, supporting our patients living with a terminal illness, and their family and friends. We rely on the generous support of our community to raise the £10million we need each year to fund our services.

Story

Ally says: My dad Peter has sailed for a hobby all his life. We really enjoyed a day as a family on board his vintage Nicholson 32 "Holly" at the end of the summer holidays. Moli particlarly relished getting to grips with "learning the ropes". As we were going through the lock, my eye was drawn to a poster publicising this fundraising event (download a copy of the brochure from the ISCC website). Any cancer charity strikes a chord, near or far, since my son Padrig (13) has been battling a brain tumour since 2008 (link to blog). The lock-keeper thrust an application form into my hand and I thought it would be fun for father, daughter and grand-daughter to take part in this race on Sept 24th! Any money we raise is for a good cause so if you'd like to back us in the race that would be wonderful.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Any little amount helps.
