Our life-changing research can fight diseases, tackle global challenges and change society. At Nottingham, students from all backgrounds can achieve extraordinary things, in and out of the classroom. But talent needs a catalyst. You can shape the future and help make the incredible happen, every day

Story

We take education for granted here, but in South Africa many children cannot even go to nursery school. Project Tshela aims to change this, one village at a time. I’m proud to be taking part in a scheme that allows 2nd year Architecture students at the University of Nottingham to design and then go out and build a nursery school in Limpopo, South Africa. We will gain invaluable insight into  a real-life build as well as providing a resource that will drastically change the future options of the 50 children of the village of Mokomotsie. Each student has to raise £1000 for the building materials (we pay for our own flights and accommodation) so I hope many of you will support my cause and help ensure an education is available to everyone, despite their financial situation.
