More than 1.8 million people are exposed to deadly asbestos every year, with one dying from asbestos-related cancer every four hours, yet most people have never heard of MESOTHELIOMA.

Mesotheliomia is especially important to me because my father, Stanley Sims, was diagnosed in October of 2009. Mesothelioma is a preventable, difficult to diagnose and treat, debilitating and incurable form of cancer that affects the thin membrane that lines the inner surface of the chest or abdomen. Asbestos exposure is responsible for as many as 90% of mesothelioma cases, including my dad's. Like thousands of other tradesmen in England, my dad was exposed to asbestos through his work as a professional floor layer.

There has been very little research carried out into how best to treat Mesothelioma. Mesothelioma UK is a national resource centre specializing in mesothelioma information, support, care and treatment. By donating to the Money for Mesothelioma Charity Golf Tournament, you are directly supporting all of the great work of the Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust.

By hosting the Money for Mesothelioma Charity Golf Tournament, my family and I are hoping to raise awareness - and a lot of money - for the charity that provides support and education to the unbelievably dedicated nurses who work with my dad during his treatments and exams. Big or small, your support goes a long way and is truly appreciated.

Join the tournament, make a donation and spread the word about mesothelioma today!
