Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. This year Henry and I have been given the great opportunity to join the Mongol Rally to raise money and awareness for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, working with the homeless families and orphans of Mongolia.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the abrupt switch to a market economy led to widespread unemployment in Mongolia. To this day with an economy struggling to compete between the two surrounding superpowers Russia and China, many Mongolian families fall into poverty, in a country that suffers extreme cold and snowstorms in winter.
Among other projects CNCF aims to reduce the numbers of homeless children by housing them in 'Ger Villages' and providing food and a basic education so they can get into jobs and stand on their own two feet. These are children which would otherwise be overlooked by the government and have nowhere else to turn. CNCF's work is invaluable to 36% of Mongolia's population that fall below the poverty line.

This summer we will be attempting to travel 10,000 miles to Mongolia in an every-day student car as part of the Mongol Rally, an event that brings wanted aid and media attention to the charities working there. In doing so we will pass through 16 countries, 4 mountain ranges and 3 deserts, covering a 3rd of the earths surface with no back-up team other than the local population.
