Story

In August 2012 I will be one of 30 riders to participate in the longest horse race in the world, the Mongol Derby. Last year only 13 made it to the finish line. There were a few broken bones but only one severed limb.

It's 1000km on half-wild Mongolian horses, changing horse every 40km. The route is secret until we get there, but we will be equipped with GPS so you can follow my progress online.

I'm raising money for Mercy Corps Mongolia.

What your donations can do for Mongolians:
$5 will buy needs and yarn for a woman headed household to knit socks to sell as an income source.
$10 will allow one unemployed person to attend a business skills training course.
$85 will provide one blind student with a full set of Braille.
$120 will provide valuable technical advice to a community group enabling them to diversify their hand made products and increase household incomes, benefiting 4-8 people.
$230 will provide literacy and mathematics skills training for 10 children with a disability who are unable to attend school.
$250 will purchase seedlings for a community group to create a vegetable cultivation business.
$312 will allow one local non-profit to organize 2-day skill building training for 20 people from vulnerable households.
$450 will buy a sewing machine and related materials to help one person start their own business.
$500 will allow one rural school with 1200 children to build an accessible outdoor ramp.
