Trek to Machu Picchu · 18 February 2009

Africa Foundation works with local organisations (NGO's) in Africa to ensure that children have access to their basic necessities. We achieve this through sustainable development projects. It works with locally established homes and schools, for street and orphaned children of Uganda, on sustainable development projects that fit well in their community. These projects fund the provision of food, water and health care for the children. They also provide vocational training skills in farming and crafts and empower the staff and children with a feeling of independence.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We have taken so long getting round to getting married that we already have a kettle so we'd like you to sponsor us instead.

The African Foundation in Uganda does some really good stuff with street children and orphans across Africa we think they probably need your cash more than we do.

To be worthy of earning your cash we will be completing a difficult trek to Machu Picchu in Peru at high altitude.

We will be contibuting over £2500 to offset the cost of the trip so that as much of your money as possible will be going to the charity.

Thanks to everyone who gave money for Pa Clarke's 70th birthday we will be adding this money to our sponsorship.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Africa Foundation for Uganda gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
