And so we make it to the weekend of the big event. One day to go! I'm currently a mixture of excited, nervous, apprehensive, scared, and any other emotion under the sun! I've done the great north run before but this is a completely new challenge, and one that I think I'm prepared for. All my training has gone well, I've got up to 20 miles in training, so now it's a case of just doing it! I'd like to take this opportunity to all you amazingly kind people who have donated so far- I mean look at what we've achieved, over £1000 for British Blind Sport!! Amazing :) I can't thank you guys enough! I just hope I can go out there and make you all proud by running well on Sunday. Thank you all again so much xx

This time in two weeks I will be around half way through the marathon... Scary stuff!! It's crazy to think that the event I've been training for for the last 4 months is now just around the corner...! I completed my last long run before the taper last Friday. 20 miles done and dusted! It was going really well up until mile 17 when I completely hit the wall. I knew it was going to happen but it was incredibly hard to run through!! But I did, and now I feel prepared for the 26.2 mile challenge in two weeks time! Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have donated to my charity British Blind Sport. With there only being 3 of us running for this charity I know that every penny that I raise is desperately needed! So a big old THANK YOU!! And to those who have not yet sponsored- please donate!! I'm getting ever closer to my target of £1500 and I couldn't do it without all of your support. I'm doing the hard work, all you need to do is click on a website or send a text message!! It's that simple :) thanks guys, and I will post on here how you can track my progress when I find out myself!! Xx

Less than a month to go! Gorgeous weather outside-will it be like this on the day?! All training has been in the cold!

Less than a month

11 WEEKS TO GO!!!!

So, training has been difficult the last couple of weeks, not helped by today's snow that's for sure!! Am now comfortably running 8 miles, and doing one long run on a weekend. Start my new job tomorrow so hopefully that won't spoil my current routine. Am now looking to increase my pace, as although when I first started my training I just wanted to finish, now I want to finish it in a decent time. That's what you get for having a competitive nature!!

Thank you to all you kind people who have already donated to my cause. I can't thank you enough for your generosity.

13.5 miles in the bag today! Was a tough run- lone running is definitely taking a lot of self motivation, but I have an amazing reason to do it!! I'm starting to get the donations in- you know who you are, and I can't thank you enough! Long way to go, but I know I can do it :)

So my training has started to pick up a bit. Went for a 11.5 mile run this morning. Although it wasn't the quickest pace in the world, I know my legs have that in them and I can push forward!

Hi I'm Morag and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!!

I have accepted the challenge of running 26.2 miles in London on the 22nd April 2012 to help raise money for British Blind Sport. My target is £1500 and this will go a long way to support athletes with a visual impairment - and what better time than in Paralympic year?!

I have already begun my training and am starting to clock up the miles. Although I'm not the fastest of runners I have steely determination and aim to finish without stopping, and (hopefully) in a relatively decent time!! Well, to be honest just finishing it would be great!! BUT... if you are wanting to place an incentive sponsorship boost for me to run in a certain time (e.g. double the money for under a certain time) then please get in touch!!

So what are British Blind Sport all about?

British Blind Sport aims to ensure that sport and leisure facilities are accessible to every blind or partially sighted person in the UK, with the intention of improving their physical health and self esteem.

Adults and children are encouraged to participate at whatever level they choose be it grassroots or up to international competitive level

Blind and partially sighted people who enter competitions nationally and internationally need a sight classification, provided by British Blind Sport books, to enable competitive participation on a fair and equal basis

Sounds like an amazing cause - how do I donate?

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. It's a fantastic opportunity to support our athletes - from grassroots to Paralympic champions. Who WOULDN'T want to be part of that?!
