As you probably are aware, I suffered a spinal cord injury in 1999 whilst on holiday n the South of France celebrating my MSci In Chenistry & French from Bristol University.Specifcally, I ran into the sea, hit my head on a sandbank whilst swimming and experienced a compression fracture of my 5th cervical vertebra meaning I and am now a c5 tetraplegic with impairment in all four limbs.

I reframe what could be seen as a negative event to appreciate how, in fact and truth, I am blessed to still be alive given the two near death experiences in the immediate aftermath of the injury and another since then when I contracted pneumonia in 2011.

If you were to REGAIN can you imagine that you will help people with severe disability to make huge steps towards REGAINING their independence.

1/ the purchase of a speciallist bed that elevates to make life easier for my carers, and affords me the opportunity to siy myself forward and compose this story

2/ A significant contribution to my fees for the Doctorate in Counselling Psyhology which I compleed earlier  this year, and which means that (in time) I wiill be back to work full time!
