Story
In July I will be cycling the L'etape du Tour Mondovelo in the Pyrenees with the aim of trying to raise as much money for The Earl Mountbatten Hospice here on the Isle of Wight. The Hospice is a magnificent place staffed by some truly amazing people. It is the only Hospice here on the Island and so very important for the community of the Isle of Wight. Through March of this year the Hospice gave my wife Becky the love and care that she needed when it mattered most and for that I am so very grateful. This love and care was unconditionally extended to myself and to the family.
The L'etape is a stage of the Tour de France opened up to a limited number of amateur cyclists so that they can test themselves on a real stage that the professionals will then ride a few days later. I am riding as part of a team of 5: Mark and Steve (my two neighbours) plus Wai-Kay and Chris (two close friends). The distance is 125 miles and we will climb 4 mountains.
I appreciate we are in difficult financial times at present, but if there are a few loose pennies that you can spare then please donate to this wonderful charity.
