On the 25th May I will be exhausting myself in Scotland and running in the Edinburgh Marathon to raise £1000 for St Catherines Hospice. In late 2007 my father, James Moss, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He passed away on the 15th May. The marathon meant alot to him. While his condition was deteriorating, he has been cared for at St Catherine’s Hospice. St Catherine’s is a specialist centre that provides palliative care for patients who are suffering from diseases which no longer respond to curative treatment, and involves providing medical and nursing care together with social, emotional and spiritual support for patients and their families.
What I need is your support in raising this money!
St Catherines and their staff have provided the most fantastic medical and emotional support for my father. All these services are provided free of charge! St Catherine’s Hospice is a registered charity, and only 25% of the costs of this wonderful service is provided for by the NHS. Around 75% of their running costs each year has to be found by fund raising. Therefore they rely on your donations and support to continue caring for people like my father.
So on the 25th May, I will be attempting to run 42k in Edinburgh and with your help raise £1000 towards maintaining these fantastic facilities To find out more about the charity you can visit their website at http://www.stcatherines.co.uk/.
I hope you are able to lend your support and a massive thanks to you for your contribution.
