On 17th July 2007 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer!  I am having my treatment at Swansea’s Singleton Hospital and as part of my recovery I have been attending Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre, also at Singleton Hospital. I am able to meet others affected by Cancer in a comfortable environment and using Maggie’s has enabled me to regain myself as a person rather than a patient.  Maggie’s has a temporary home at Singleton but plans to create a purpose-built Centre. 

On 23 June 2008 I set off from Maggie's Centre, Swansea with my husband, Ian. The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress were there to wave us off along with Centre Staff, Debbie, Merryl, Vicki and also friends and relatives.

We drove around Britain in Fifi, my 15 year old Fiesta, stopping at all Maggie’s Centres, both open and planned, and also visited John o Groats and Land’s End as part of the journey, a distance of over 2531 miles. I returned to a fabulous welcome at Maggie's Centre,Swansea, on Friday 4th July 2008 (my birthday), again with the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Swansea in attendance and so many others - thank you.

Since setting up this page I have been amazed at the generosity of so many people ( that's why I have increased my target) !!!  Thanks to everyone including the Wednesday Night Quiz Night at the Plough & Harrow in Llansamlet, Swansea and the Sales Team at SWALEC Swansea.
