MOVE Europe is a small UK based national charity working with schools/centres, therapists and parents to provide the most severely disabled children and adults throughout the UK with increased mobility by teaching the skills necessary for independent sitting, standing, walking and transferring. As a result, the MOVE Programme can help to develop the child or adult’s cognitive and communication skills, can improve health and social inclusion whilst also providing opportunities to gain greater independence and to make choices for themselves.
£250,000 will allow us to continue implementing the MOVE Programme throughout the UK, menaing more children will be able to have access to it and start the journeys towards independent mobility.
Recent research has shown that within the first year of a child starting the MOVE Programme 72% have increased their mobility. Transforming a child’s life in this way can cost as little as £250 per child. This isnt much to transform not only a child's life but also the lives of their families.
Over 4,000 children have already benefitted from the MOVE Programme across the UK.
