Story

Me and my belly are going to run a Marathon this Sunday for Childline. Please sponsor us.

So, this started as a pub arguement. I insisted that when you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything. "But you couldn't just go and run a marathon without any physical training, could you?"

Childline are a fantastic charity. When children are being bullied or abused and have no one else to talk to, Childline are there for them. Last year they took over 36,000 calls for bullying. They need to expand their service to be able to receive text messages and emails and have more staff and volunteers trained up and ready to help their increasing number of children who need them.

Here is my challenge: In my adult life, I have been running 8 times ever. I am not a natural, I'm not fit and I don't eat particularly healthily. Oh, and did you know I was asthmatic? I intend to run the whole way in the Amsterdam Marathon this Sunday - no walking allowed! It'll probably be the slowest run you have ever seen but I will complete it.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. If you are not sure how much to give, think how much you'd sponsor me for a 10K run and multiply it by 4.2  :)

Thank you x

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
