10km is a paltry distance. You can walk it in an hour and a half. If you jog for an hour non stop, you've done it. In 2005, I managed 5km then my lungs gave way. In 2006, I managed 7km then my legs gave way. After that I pledged that in 2007 I'd get all the way without walking. So far, I've done no training, I'm 2 stone overweight, City's season has flubbled into scrootiousness, United have won yet another title courtesy of Angelina Ballerina and I've had three colds in as many weeks. It's not going well.
But I'm still going for the whole 10k. Ahem!
This year, on account of the missus being a CF pharmacist, I'm running for the CF Trust. Cystic Fibrosis is a spectacularly minging disease (see here: http://www.cftrust.org.uk/aboutcf/whatiscf/symptoms/) with an average life expectancy of 31. When they started in 1964, life expectancy was 5 years. This is something where research is really making a big difference, so please if you can, give us some cash.
