#MRDFTREK 2016 · 23 July 2016 ·

MRDF strives to articulate Islam in a modern context and address the unique situation and challenges faced by Muslims in the West. An integral focus as a means to this end is the study, analysis and presentation of classical Islamic scholarship and its contemporary application.

Story

In one of the houses of Madinah, ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allaah be pleased with him, was sitting with a group of his companions. He asked them: “Make a wish”. One of them said, “I wish to have as much gold as would fill this whole house, so that I could spend it in His path”. Then again ‘Umar asked: “Make a wish”. Another man said, “I wish that this house was full of jewels and gems so that I could spend it all in His path”. ‘Umar asked for the third time:“ Make a wish”, his companions said: “We don’t know what to say, O leader of the believers”. Thereupon ‘Umar said,

“My wish is Allaah fills this room with men like Abu ‘Ubaydah Ibn Al-Jarraah and Mu’aadh bin Jabal so I can send them in the path of Allaah.”

'Umar, may Allaah be pleased with him, knew how true civilisations are established, how great missions succeed and how to revive dead nations! The comprehensive work that has been and is ongoing by MRDF, Shaykh Haitham, Shaykh Farid Haibatan and others is work that is a must in our age today and without a doubt in line with 'Umars views.

The programs have been thought out and developed to bring the best out of people; to create leaders who will not only have minds to understand the Deen but go further to also preserve and establish at an individual level, family level, local community level and beyond.

Let's be part of this legacy together and donate.
