Hi everyone,

A few months ago my sister katie was diagnosed with multiple seorosis, which came to a huge shock to our family. So George and I have decided with some great friends, to undertake a considerable challenge to raise funds for a major MS charity. The Charity; We have, with the advice of Katie’s consultant, chosen to support the leading MS research and treatment charity BrAMS. This brilliant small research unit is attached to the side of Frenchay hospital in Bristol. They would welcome any visit, we find their work truly awe inspiring and of course we hope it will help Katie and of course so many others in time. They have a web site at www.brams.org.uk

All six of us will be raising money exclusively for the charity. We are all working now to fund the purchase of the cars, payment for visas, food, fuel, return travel and all other expenses; so any money you can sponsor us for will go 100% to the charity. The competition rules are very simple. Basically, after the start, which is on 18 July, “you are on your own”. We can choose whatever route we like. One of the rules states that the first £1,000 raised from each team has to go to the organisers’ official sponsored charity. However we have negotiated, in this case, to waive this rule and the money raised by all five of us will go direct to MS research and treatment.

We are planning at this stage to take the southern route via Iran , then northeast through the southern Russian republics to Mongolia. Therewe will donate the cars for auction to Mongolian charities which is a well established practice. We are relying heavily on your generosity so please please donate on the link below. We would much appreciate any amount you are able to give. Wishing you the best for 2009 and beyond.

Best Wishes from the Team,

Art, George, Arch, Jon, Oli and Barney
