Flora London Marathon 2004 · 18 April 2004 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

When we think of the London Marathon, we think of Paula Radcliffe’s magnificent record beating triumph last year; that thrilling 5-way finish in the mens race; the enthusiasm of vast crowds of spectators supporting the both the elite runners and those that need 7 hours or more; the massive amounts of money raised for good causes. Do the British people want to include ‘disgraced peer’ Archer in those thoughts? Surely not.

While I respect anyone who wants to raise money for charity, Archer’s attempts to get the headlines by going for the record makes it seem more of an attempt to gain approval and be liked.

I am nobody from nowhere, but I have a place in the Flora London Marathon, and would like to use it to raise a record amount of money by asking the British people to sponsor me and keep Archer off the top spot.

Please join the attempt by donating to Sense. Every pound you give brings us one step closer to wiping the smile off the 'disgraced peer's face, and gives Sense one more chance to support a deafblind person.

See People vs Peer for more details of my world record attempt.
