Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

Acorns supports more than 800 children and over 1,100 families every year. The charity needs to raise £14 million each year to provide its care services across hospices and community settings. Your support means Acorns can continue to be there for local families facing the unimaginable.

Story

Vicky (my secretary) and I have decided to run the London Marathon on 21 April 2013, to help celebrate 80 years since Mucklow was founded and to raise much needed funds for our nominated charity, Acorns Children's Hospice. On a personal note I am also doing this to mark my 50th birthday (which is 6 days after the event) and Vicky has always wanted to run a marathon as she is very into fitness and enjoys a challenge!

To keep us motivated during training we have decided to turn it into a competitive race!! Boss vs. Secretary! Who do you want to win??!

With only 12 weeks to go training is going well, but we could both do with some moral and financial support to make this painful task worthwhile!

Any donation is much appreciated and we will keep you updated on our progress.
