My story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to give to our chosen charity in memory of our very special beautiful boy Blake.
F.A.B.L.E. 'For A Better Life with Epilepsy'; will get your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much for your support.
Blake was a complex and funny oddity of a character after suffering meningitis aged three and a half. He was deemed to be one of those who would never be of too much value to society, but went on to be inspirational and triumphing over much adversity in his life. He became a loving, funny, helpful & kind person.....
One day after much laughing and joking.... Blake went up the stairs to bed with a cheery goodnight..... never to come down them again. we found him dead in bed the next morning, Feb 18th 2005 having suffered a seizure so huge that it had stopped his heart and lungs. Sudep (sudden death in epilepsy) took our beautiful boy without a chance to say goodbye.
Don't let someone else lose their loved one as we did Blake due to a lack of research and medical knowledge & intervention - perhaps his death can stand for something good.
Help me please to remember him with love and honour, and for his death to make a difference to someone else by helping others live a life with epilepsy that is as safe as it can be, and let us find a way to control it better and prevent sudden death for those still in with a chance..... Blake's way of saying I Love You was to say "Mum you're awful" and we would reply "Greenish Brown Female Sheep" to say the same! So from me and my family, GBFS...... thank you.... and...... you're awful...
Blake's memorial site tells our story and a little about him.

He has a memorial page on fable's website also.
In 2009 we will be doing some fund raising concerts and events gearing up to try to raise as much over the next two years towards our target please help me achieve this if you can, he was a wonderful young man.
In our extended family Maria Beeston has just offered to donate the money she earns from a sponsered c2c bike ride from the west coast of england to the east coast in Sept 2009, to Blake's fundraiser... Maria Beeston may be contacted through messaging on facebook if you would like to sponser her...
