Story
It's a Mountain not a Molehill
On Thursday 23rd of June 2005, the TIP Trailer Services UK & Ireland leadership Team ascended the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike, in the Lake District. Scafell Pike towers over the Lake District, at 978m above sea level.
This risky endeavour was masterminded by John Murray, General Manager of the UK & Ireland business to raise over £6000 for the Bobby Moore Cancer Fund. The team approached friends, family, colleagues and suppliers to support the walk. This was not your usual stroll, it lasted over 8 hours and covered over 15 miles, climbing up to over 978m, and down again.
Not only did they ascend the highest peak in England, but they also took the toughest route, which involved some very steep climbs. The weather proved to be a severe challenge as a thick fog came down during the ascent as the photos below suggest. The team enjoyed a few well-earned beverages back at base camp in the small village of Boot to help take their minds off the sore legs and feet. Evidence of blisters disproved one of the theories suggested on the on-line sponsorship form "Trust the management team to make a Mountain out of a Molehill ". Participants Were: John Murray Steve Little Paul Beadle Luc Kergoat Will Laing Nathan Broad Mihran Hovnanian Neville Shaw Nicola Jackson Damien Wall
