Memory Walk
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year over 110,000 people walk united, against dementia. We aim, with your help to raise over £9 million to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

I am taking part in this walk to help raise awareness of this awful  Disease. I know first hand how cruel it can be, as my Dad was diagnosed with it around 10 years ago. Sadly he passed away over 4 years ago now, from heart failure, but the only saving grace was that his dementia had not taken him completely. He still remembered us, his close immediate family, but he had lost all memories of most of his siblings, friends and extended family by that time, and his short term memory was almost non existent. It made him paranoid and angry one minute, sorrowful and vulnerable the next. This coming from  someone-who was probably one of the strongest willed and fearless men I knew! He was my Hero and I miss him terribly.
