My 9th year running ma sha Allah and 18 events but who is counting.
The other day was international women's day. I went to an all girls school when I was younger and they would celebrate this telling us about all the great things women achieved in the last 100 years like voting and entitlement to inheritance etc.Of course I had Islam knowing these things were established over 1400 years ago,yet growing in this western society I could not see from the Muslim community the elevated respect our deen gave to women. Even though every bearded man talking to a white woman would tell her about this great respect when making dawah!! My up bringing influenced my passion to dedicate year after year facilitating women to pray Eid and be included as part of our ummah. Facing the obstacle of men trying to take away what the greatest man created Muhammad sallahu aleyhi Wasalam told me was mine!! Sisters please do not take for granted that now women are participating in prayer inside and outside the mosque. It's taken a lot of sacrifice and courage from people who love the truth to regain our rights, now it's our job as Muslim women to sustain take care and make sure it never gets taken away again!!
