Hello everyone!

For those who don't know me, my name is Penélope. One day, while trying to escape once again from my cot I realised that my Daddy (Marcos) had entered the Madrid Marathon for 2008.

You would agree with me that he has gone completely crazy... So I started thinking of ways that he could forget about it, but seeing that this looks like almost impossible, I thought  that if at least we can offset that craziness with some good deed, the balance between Ying and Yang would be restored once again (not that he is going to stop being completely insane, though...)

My decision is a little biased, but what is not in this life? So one day I jumped into his computer  and opened this fundraising page so that you can kindly donate to Unicef while my Dad still thinks that he is some sort of a young guy...

According to UNICEF, 30,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”

My maths are still at very early stages, but to me this is an absolute disgrace!! , and that may be the reason why my Dad has gone completely insane...

UNICEF helps children receive the support, health care and education they need to survive the threats of childhood poverty - such as preventable disease or malnutrition - and grow up to become healthy adults.

Hola a todos !

Para aquellos que no me conozcan, mi nombre es Penélope. Un día, mientras intentaba escapar de mi cuna una vez más  me di cuenta de que mi Papi (Marcos) se había inscrito en la Maratón de Madrid 2008.

Estaréis de acuerdo conmigo en que está como un auténtico cencerro... Así que empecé a pensar en como hacerle olvidar esa idea, pero viendo que esto iba a ser tarea imposible, se me ocurrió  que si al menos puedo compensar tanta locura con alguna acción buena, recobraríamos de nuevo el balance entre el Ying y el Yang (aunque lo de su locura simplemente no tiene remedio...)

Mi decisión no es muy imparcial que digamos, pero así es la vida... Así que un día me hice con su ordenador  y creé esta página para que puedas donar generosamente a UNICEF mientras mi Papi se cree que todavía es un jovenzuelo...

Según UNICEF, 30.000 niños mueren al día debido a la pobreza. Y "mueren silenciosamente en algunos de los poblados más pobres que hay en la tierra, lejos de la mirada y la conciencia del mundo. Ser sumiso y débil en la vida hace a estas multitudes agonizantes todavía más invisibles en la muerte."

Todavía es muy pronto para mi para entender de matemáticas, pero esto es una auténtica vergüenza!!, y quizá la razón por la que mi Papá se ha vuelto medio zumbao...

UNICEF ayuda a los niños a recibir la ayuda, cuidado médico y educación que necesitan para sobrevivir a las amenazas de la pobreza de la infancia -como las enfermedades que se pueden prevenir o la malnutrición- y llegar a ser adultos sanos.
