This trek to Nepal will give four young people an experience of a lifetime. Through this amazing opportunity, we are supporting the work of Who Cares? Scotland, and also the essential work of Community Action Nepal.
CAN aims to support long term sustainable benefits (primarily health and education) to poverty stricken areas of Nepal. Nepal is famous for its very rich and varied culture, Everest, Himalayas and Yeti - though is the sixth poorest country in the world.
The challenge requires the team to undertake a six day trek in the Bhara Pokhari region in the Himalayas. The Trek will also include visiting one of Community Action Nepal's projects to see first hand the vital work they carry out.
Fundraising for the event requires a high level of time and commitment, so far we have undertaken: car boot sales, sponsored walk of Goatfell, race night and lots of begging money. We have planned: sponsored walk of The Cobbler, Climbing height of Everest indoors, Wickerman Music Festival (campsite sherpas, pack mules and porters) www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk , car washes and car boot sales.
