The Namib Desert Challenge · 21 February 2010

Thistle supports people living with long-term health conditions or facing challenging life circumstances to take back control of their lives, and ensure that a health crisis doesn't become a life crisis.

Story

Hi there

**update-leavig for Namibia today (18th February). Many thanks to those who generously donated-I will thank you all personally by email or otherwise when I return (after 26th February to thank you all individually.**

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February 2010, I'm going to be running the Namib Desert Challenge, a gruelling 220km 5 day 'ultramarathon' across the Namib Desert. The run will take place across the highest sand dunes in the world, in one of the world's most inhospitable and remote locations. On my own!

I'll be raising funds for The Thistle Foundation, which provides personally appropriate support services, which help those who are disabled or have long term health conditions to lead full and active lives. The Thistle Foundation works to ensure these services are flexible and centred on the needs of the person, to that person's requirements

This terrific charity supports thousands of people across Scotland every year. This support ensures that people with disabilities and long term health problems are able to enjoy the highest quality of life experience.

By donating to this challenge, you'll be making sure that excellent services continue to be delivered to those in society who need the most support; it really will make a direct difference to the quality of life of other human beings!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are completely secure with Just Giving. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks to The Scotland Kilt Company in Edinburgh for donating a kilt and sporran to wear :-D!!

So please dig deep and make a real difference to another person's life today!!

Many thanks

Chris
