Namibia Challenge Horse Trek · 1 April 2005

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. In June 2005 Emma, Laura and I will be riding across the Namib Desert - 400km in 9 days. This expedition is one of the toughest endurance rides around.

Giving UK support is Josie, an experienced horse rider who despite recently being paralysed in a car accident is now riding again. You can support her sponsored dressage test here also.

We are raising money for Spinal Research a charity which funds research to repair spinal cord injury and reverse the paralysis which results from it.

Providing all the website support is Mari, who will be letting you follow our progress across the desert via our website:
www.namibiachallenge.co.uk - on this site you can learn about us, the Namib desert, see a daily journal and photographs of the trip, read about Josie's dressage test and see all the other fundraising events going on!
Please dig deep and sponsor us online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Spinal Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support. Cress, Emma, Laura and Josie and Mari
