Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. My name is Nancy and I'm 27 years old. 2 years ago my aunty sadly died of cancer. My mum and her sister in law trekked across the Sahara Desert whilst my aunty was ill, sadly she died shortly after. Although I helped raise money last time I decided this time I wanted to get involved to make my aunty proud and to let her know she hasn't been forgotten and never will be! I'm doing this for you Teresa!!! I am off to Thailand for 10 days where my challenge will take me through the rugged jungle in remote parts of the province close to the border with Burma. I will be camping in tents, sleeping in stilt houses, trekking on average 10-12 kms a day along dusty rocky roads and dense jungle. I will climb for hours up mountains, cross through dark caves over 100 m long, kayaking approx 4-5 hours in a day and wading through the Songkaria River......the list is endless. This is not my usual idea of fun! Having to cope with ridiculous heat and very sore feet is one thing I hope I can handle - shame I can't say the same about the creepy crawlies! I will have no choice but to overcome my fears because I know as loud as I scream.......Ant and Dec aren't going to get me out of this jungle! I must point out though, there will be no cockroach or stick insect munching taking place whilst I'm around! My mum and Aunt have have said they are really happy I am joining them - purely for the entertainment values as they know I will be hysterical with the bugs I am due to face! FYI I am taking ear muffs to protect my ears when sleeping! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
