Story

6th July 2008
Hello all my sponsors,
I finished the 2008 fundraising run for you and it went very well. While waiting for an hour and a half to start the race, I was relaxed like many others.
More than 26,000 runners took part to raise money for good causes. Heaven sent down occassional showers but, not enough to dampen our spirits. I started at 9.45 a.m. and finished at 10.50 a.m. with 1 stop to toilet after 2 km and another to apply blister plaster on my right foot after 5km.
Thank you for all your generous sponsors and donations which encouraged me to finish the race. Thank you James for being there to support me.
Bye for now and this fundraising line is live till end of August 08.
With love,
Nancy.

Dear Sponsors,

It was the last training for me before the event day on 6th July 08. On Sat. evening, I shall be eating a large bowl of pasta to have energy for Sunday.

My both legs were tired throughout my run from home to Hampton Court Palace-approx. 4 miles. At one of the gardens, I stopped to chat to a couple who were having a picnic on the bench, under the sun. The lady offered me raspberries. I told them I was training for my charity run for CAMFED on Sunday. The man stood up, put his hand into his pocket, took out some coins and gave £3 to sponsor me. I asked for their names. They are Rosemary and Peter Clinch, from Sydney, staying in Kingston Lodge and leaving for their home to-morrow with a brief transit at Singapore airport. We talked lots, they asking me about my family and Rosemary proudly showed me the photo of their new grandchild. Peter offered me the wine and Rosemary told him it's not wise since I was running. So, Rosemary offfered me more raspberries and gave me another £2 to top their donation to £5. I was indeed, so happy. We exchanged email addresses and using their camera, we took photos of each other.

I left them and decided to ran back along the river as I felt energetic. The raspberries had worked magic for my energy because I took lesser time to finish the 4 miles.

Good night, Good day wherever you are.
