<p class="MsoNormal">My grandma Rita was diagnosed with liver cancer in July 2010 and sadly passed away on the 12<sup>th</sup> of September in the same year.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>She spent the last few weeks of her life in Heathlands residential home.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After the first week she deteriorated and was moved to the more medical part of the home, at this stage we knew what was to come and between all the family, we didn’t leave her side.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">She was looked after by Social care workers, nurses and sisters.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Aside from doing a fantastic job of caring for my grandma, making sure she was clean, comfortable and peaceful, they reached out to her family and did whatever they could to keep us sane.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">They were there for all of us through this devastating time, constantly reassuring us, talking to us, explaining everything, every step of the way until the moment she passed away;<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>offering us drinks throughout the day and even making toast for us in the middle of the night.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Healthlands also organised for the whole family to have lunch there on the celebration of our Jewish new year so we could spend it with grandma.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>One of the social care workers even sat with us in her break on the night shift just to talk and another offered her shoulder to cry on and a chance to talk if we wanted.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I personally have never experienced kindness quite like it and I will be forever grateful.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Not a day goes by that we don’t miss our beautiful grandma, her cups of tea, chicken soup, the hilarious comments and one liners she came out with and generally her truly unique and wonderful personality.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I would like to raise as much money as i can for Heathlands to show my appreciation of their fantastic work.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I am in the process of organising The Ultimate Zumbathon courtesy of Shirley Sadler of Her Fitness which is taking place on the 6th of April at Parenthorn Highschool,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Heywood Road<br />Prestwich,Manchester,Lancashire M25 2GR</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">From 6pm to 9pm (yes three hours of fun and fitness)</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Cost: £10 or if anybody wants to try and raise more money there is another option of getting sponsered and if you raise £20 or more you can have your £10 back (i am in the process of making sponsorship forms please see me or Shirley for one or send me your email address on facebook and i will email one to you when they are complete)</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Please confirm your place and how many hours you are going to attempt so i can keep track of numbers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This is going to be such a fun event and i want everyone that gets involved to dance their socks off and celebrate my grandma Rita's wonderful life.<br /> .</p>
