The aim of Water for Kids is to preserve and protect the good health of people in the developing world by assisting in the provision of safe drinking water, good sanitation and other public health matters. Water for kids is currently involved in projects in Zambia, Uganda, Kenya and India.

My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I completed the Manchester 10k in support of Water for Kids projects in Zambia. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me. All your money will go towards the new Water For Kid projects.

The average life expectancy in Zambia has dropped to 38 years, almost the lowest for any country in the world and one in six children die before the age of five. HIV and AIDS is a factor and access to a safe water supply and a latrine are especially essential for those living with HIV/AIDS. Dirty contaminated water can be fatal for those with debilitated immune systems. Yet in rural areas of Zambia only 41% of the population have access to safe drinking water and only 13% have sanitation (23% in urban areas).

Water for Kids is working with the Zambian Institute of Environmental Health to deliver safe water, sanitation and health eduction to rural areas in Zambia. Please visit our website: www.waterforkids.org
