Story
Hello Dear Friends!
Thank you for coming to visit my fundraising page for the LCD Hitch 2010. By this point I assume you know what I'm doing; the gist is that I'm participating in the most unusual Charity Fundraiser anyone's ever come up with: Hitchhiking to Morocco. Details about this 18-year old annual fundraising event can be found here.
This is more than an adventure. It is a chance to support a truly worthwhile project. Link Community Development acts to alleviate the severe poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa by starting at the grassroots level: education. Economic growth, health, political stability, etc. all depend on decent education... and good education requires good implementation. To that end, LCD works to train teachers and school administrators, providing the framework necessary to run effective and efficient schools, in Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi.
I believe LCD does very important work in a very unique way. Apparently I'm not the only one. Supported by family, friends, and strangers on the street, I have already raised more than double the £350 minimum! This is absolutely incredible, and I can't be thankful enough to those of you who've given your support.
Now there's only one thing to do. Up the goal again. £1,000. It's not that far off! Anyway, regardless of "goals" or "threshholds", each and every bit counts. So please, help me reach out a hand, support the cause, and join the hitchhike.
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded.
