We did this 26 mile run as part of our PSHE "Active Citizenship" homework which encourages being active in the community for the benefit of others and raising awareness and money for worthwhile causes
CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading children's cancer charity, supporting children, young people and their families through cancer every step of the way by providing Nurses, Social Workers, Play Therapists, Home from Home, Research, Financial support & advice and Holidays.
We trained for just 2 weeks prior to the marathon that we ran on Sunday 31st May in unusually high temperatures. Ollie's mum acted as our safety rider and therefore also completed the 26 mile course on a bicycle loaded with water - many thanks to her!
We completed the 26 mile course in 5 hours and 1 minute, it was incredibly hot and a lot harder than we had expected, but we did it and in a fairly respectable time too! Please consider sponsoring us, we are still a little way off our target of £100!
