Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 18 July, the Brent Symphony Orchestra is holding a "Tchaikathon", which means that we'll be playing all of Tchaikovsky's 6 symphonies, the Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture, Capriccio Italien and the 1812 Overture (the one with cannons) as well as some operatic excerpts, in one day, in aid of Cancer Research UK.
While this isn't the same as climbing Kilimanjaro, or the Three Peaks Challenge, or the Race For Life or sitting in a bath of beans, it is nevertheless no easy task, especially for we poor souls in the brass section! Therefore I'd be really pleased if you could spur me on by donating whatever you can on this page. Whilst I am attempting to draft in reinforcements for what is sure to be a punishing day, I'll say now that if I raise over £100 I'll make sure I play every single piece, if I raise £150 I'll play standing up for the whole morning and if I raise £200 or more I'll play standing up for the whole day (assuming this is practical for all concerned!)
All proceeds after costs (it costs me £20 to participate) will benefit Cancer Research UK, a charity which means so much to so many people. Please support this unusual venture by delving deep! If you want to know more about the event, please let me know.
Many thanks
Nathan
p.s. You can come along and listen to us make our attempt at St. James' Church, Sherriff Road, West Hampstead, NW6 2AP. We start at 10:15am and finish at 7:15pm. If you do come along, you are welcome to bring your donation with you then.
p.p.s. All suggestions for otherwise spicing up the day are warmly welcomed, though probably eventually rejected....
