Story

So we were in the Office chatting one day and one of the many pointless conversations that we had involved questioning the distance around the Isle of Wight. We found out that it was somewhere between 70-80 miles, and half an hour later an email was sent around to see who was up for cycling around it.

So the misguided optimistic are as follows:

Alex Hunter

Sam Hayward

Richard Yoxall

Nic White

Minal Madhani

Maxwell Beer

Adam Kondratowicz

Dan Matthews

This was perhaps a rash decision at the time due to the 8 of us that signed up having the following problems to contend with between us;

1) Terribly unfit (pretty much all 8 of us)

2) Heavy smoker

3) Absence of a decent bike

4) Absence of a bike all together

However we have until June 4th to attempt to iron these problems out and get some training under our belts.

The charity that we have chosen to raise money for putting ourselves through this is CALM (Childrens Cancer & Leukaemia Movement). This is a charity that is particularly important to Alex as they provided support for him and his family when he was a mere 2 year old battling cancer.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
