Story

UPDATE: 24/04/10: Nervous, apprehensive, excited, terrified, full of pasta and off to bed. See you on the other side!

UPDATE: 21/04/10: The final week, the final push on the fundraising front, the training has tapered off and the last physio appointment is booked for Friday. Now its just rest, taking on carbs, and getting the head in the right frame of mind. See you out on the course!

UPDATE: 17/04/10: I'm the top story on the Legionlive Website: http://legionlive.org.uk/2010/04/17/a-cheeky-legion-runner/

UPDATE: 02/04/10: Got myself an awesome running partner and we were out at 7.30 this morning with the other crazies running round Hyde Park. 12.2miles later the leg holding up well.

UPDATE: 25/03/10: Permission to run again granted! Physio being kept on for the lead up to the run and no doubt deal with the aftermath!

UPDATE: 23/03/10: So after two weeks of being off training on doctors orders I'm hoping to get the all clear tomorrow to re-commence the running as the final countdown to April 25th begins

UPDATE: 11/03/10: Off to the Physio this evening - had a difficult 8miles at the weekend and right thigh not feeling quite as it should....fingers crossed.

UPDATE 22/02/10: Did a 10 miler at the weekend in 1:36:32 which means I'm well on pace for my target of 4:30:00 completion time

Okay so I have officially gone mad and I've signed up to do the London Marathon in 2010!

What this means is that my normal desk-jockey lifestyle is about to have a severe shake up, sedate and laid back will be replaced by frenetic and tiresome training, warm and comfortable evenings on the sofa will become howling gales of sleet, wind and snow and riotous evenings with friends and alcoholic beverages will become riotous evenings with friends, a soft drink and an early night!

However this madness is being undertaken for some very good reasons: for me it means I complete one of my 'must do before 30' targets (I race 21 days before that momentous event) but more importantly it means that I will be raising lots of money for The Royal British Legion.

So what do I need you to do? Well that's simple, sponsor me! Give me the financial encouragement and backing to tear round the streets of London come April 25th 2010 and help support an absolutely fantastic charity in the process. If you want to come and watch and cheer me on do that too if you're able!

To give you and idea of the great work the charity do have a look at the link below:

Go on help me smash my target!

Thanks for your time
