The Task we have set ourselves is: We, a group of about 10 16 year olds will be taken into an unknown location somewhere in England. We will then have to find our way to a given location which will be roughly 50 miles away. Over the 2 days we have to complete this task, as a team, we will have to use several different types of transport to manoeuvre across the country. This will be things like Mountain Biking, Canoeing and Hiking. Our aim is to be 'Homeless' for a night. Having to build our own shelters to survive the night. We will also need to live off of a nourishing diet of ration packs.
This won't be easy for us at all; so with your generous donations we can make a difference to the homeless people of Wiltshire.
NCS. MIX IT UP.

What is the Scheme About?:
The National Citizen Service (NCS) was set up as part of David Cameron's Big Society initiative. The NCS is about trying to give some teenagers, at the age of 16, the chance to mix with other groups of people, that, without the project they wouldn't normally mix with.
The scheme is in it's pilot year and needs as much support as possible if it is to take off. The NCS provides these 16 year olds with some extra qualifications: Sports Leader Level 1, ASDAN Qualification in Leadership and more.
Teamwork is an important and integral part of life in society and the way forward is for the government to attempt to improve the way young people construed themselves. The Course does this in several ways; one being the qualifications gained through hard work. Another would be how they have to work on team building exercises, gaining knowledge and experience through this summer long process.
At the end of the course the young people must complete a community project and a certain amount of hours of community service to achieve one of their final qualifications.

What We Want To Achieve And How we Will Do It:
What we, as the young people taking part in the scheme want to achieve is something that will be of great benefit to our local society. We picked several points in which we thought the people of Wiltshire would best benefit from. Helping the elderly; the poor; people with drug addictions; women who needed shelter and protection and finally we came to a group decision that we wanted to help homeless people/ people who can not afford food.
As all of us in the scheme are from Wiltshire (Swindon, Trowbridge, Devizes etc.) we tried to focus on one place in particular where we could help the most. Eventually due to travel plans, charitable needs and a few other factors we decided that The Wiltshire Food Bank was the place where we could provide most help to the homeless and less fortunate members of society.
It Is Important That WE As A Community Remember That These People Live With Us And WE Are Responsible For How WE Look After Them. WE, As Fellow Human Beings Need To Show Some Compassion And Help Others Form Time To Time. And WE Are Saying That Time Is Now.
Please Donate AS MUCH As You Can.
Thank YOU.
