UPDATE: Thankyou all for your comments and donations thus far, just to let everyone know that we did complete the walk on Friday, in ten and a half hours (with very heavy rain for about 7 hours). The rain meant that there was very poor visibility on the second and third peaks so unfortunately we missed the views - maybe an excuse to return to the area and walk the hills again at a more leisurely pace!
We are a group of 8 (eager but perhaps a touch apprehensive!) friends from Newtown Baptist Church Chesham who are attempting the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Friday July 3rd.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk is a very demanding but rewarding walk, which takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres - 2,276 feet), Whernside (736 metres - 2,415 feet) and Ingleborough (723 metres 2,372 feet) all in one circular route. The challenge is to complete the walk within 12 hours!
