Hello,

I was involved in a very serious road traffic accident in 2009 which left me in a coma along with some other very serious injuries. I was unconscious for quite a long time and only really came back to life eight days later! It took me quite a while even to start to recognise members of my own family.

To this date I am still having treatment for my injuries and I've got a few more operations to go!

I was extremely fit and active before the accident and despite the need for ongoing intensive physiotherapy I've made a big effort to get back into running again and I've been practising regularly and started to get decent times but because of my injuries I need to run with my arm strapped to my chest.

I've decided to do this charity run in Edinburgh with three other people in order to raise money for the Sussex air ambulance team. They attended me at the scene of the accident and transferred me to a hospital in London and if it wasn't for them I'm not sure I would be alive to tell the tale. They really do such a fantastic job and I want to raise some money for them in order to say a big thank you for all that they did for me and the valuable work that they do in saving people's lives every day. As they run on a charitable basis it is really critical that they get as much financial help as they can in order to provide a great service.

So please do give generously and help us to raise our target.
