Bath Half Marathon 2010 · 7 March 2010 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

***Update*** Thank you very much to everyone for their support, my finishing time was 02.00.40

I'll be running the Bath Half Marathon (http://www.runninghigh.co.uk/site.aspx?i=ho0)  on Sunday 7th March 2010, fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society.

There are 700,00 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2025.

Unfortunately my Grandma is one of those people suffering.  It feels very much like there's not a lot I can do to help this...so here's my first attempt to raise some money for a charity helping the people suffering, and it might help someone else in the long term.

I'm hoping to complete the Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) in under two hours.  Last time I did one five years ago I did it in just over two hours, but I'm a lot heavier and older now! :-(

If you're really interested, you can see how my training is going at:

I'd like to aim raise £100 with this as my first attempt at the fundraising.  Even if you could just give £1 it's a big help towards the target (and with Giftaid the Government adds a bit more onto this too!)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.

Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please donate what you can

Thank you!
