One mile > One tree - MOO Lon>Den July marathon · 31 July 2019
The company I work for MOO have issued a challenge to collectively run the distance from our London office to our Denver office, 4658 miles .
My contribution is to attempt the exact distance from my home to the London office where I work a total 62 miles over the month of July.
62 miles is more than I have run collectively over the last 25 years and the few practice runs I have done have been hard and painful; so all tips are welcome.
Did I mention I HAAAATE RUNNING !!!
My plan is to run to the Station in the morning (1.7miles) and run home from the station in the evening (1.7 miles) this is a daily distance of 3.4 miles.
David Attenborough has really made me conscious that the legacy I'm leaving my children is not the one they deserve, so with this in mind I'm supporting the earth day network canopy reforestation project aiming to plant 7.8 billion trees, one for every person on earth.
I hope that every mile I run throughout July = 1 new tree, 62 in total so please raid the back of the sofa and donate your small change.
MOO is going to donate £1 per mile (in addition to charity matching all the fundraisers) so we are aiming for 186 trees !!! That's like a forest.
Wish me luck.
Did you know, in just one year, a mature leafy tree produces as much oxygen as 10 people inhale!
