Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am running the London Marathon on April 26th 2009, please read what inspires me below:
In 1997 my cousin, Claire, shortly after the birth of her second child, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblast Leukaemia .
After a long battle, she succeeded in beating the illness and was pronounced clear in 2001, and was constantly monitored until 2007.
Throughout her ordeal Leukaemia Research (LR) provided fantastic support for Claire and her family.
Inspired by Claire’s bravery and tenacity, and to thank those that helped her in her time of need, I ran the 2002 London Marathon (not having ever run seriously before), and raised just over £1200 for LR.
Now, all these years later, Claire and all her family are still heavily involved in fundraising for LR, to ensure that other people get the care and support that made all the difference to her.
Claire recently celebrated her 40th birthday (February 6th 2009), so it just seems to be the right time to pull on my running shoes and do my bit again.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
