We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. On Sunday 26th October I will be taking part in the BUPA Great South Run, over a course of 10 miles around Portsmouth. I've decided to take up this challenge to raise money for Diabetes UK which is a charity very close to my heart.

My brother Martin is an insulin-dependent diabetic and a real inspiration to me. Diabetes UK fund diabetes research to develop better treatment, prevent diabetes and to find a cure.

As you know, I'm not exactly built for running so I am training really hard and your support will really spur me on!

I've also started an online blog to chart my training progress, please check it out and feel free to leave comments of support! Its at http://runningslowly.blogspot.com
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Diabetes UK gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now, I want to raise as much as possible for a great cause!

UPDATE: I completed the great South Run in 2 hours 22 minutes. Thank you for all your support & sponsorship - I will keep this page open for another few weeks for any stragglers!
