Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

POST RACE UPDATE - It was a hot day and there were about 27,000 people there, but I'm proud to say that I finished the race in 59 mins and 50 seconds, so just squeaking inside the target I had set myself of 1 hour.

Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me. It really means a lot.

Neil

-----

In a mad rush of blood to the head I decided to take one of SignHealth's places in the ASICS London 10k run.

SignHealth is the national charity for Deaf Healthcare, and owns the company I work for, SignTranslate.

Unbelieveably in this day and age, Deaf people still face huge difficulty getting access to healthcare in this country. There are just 400 British Sign Language Interpreters in the UK, so it can take days or weeks to book one - not much good if you need to see a doctor straight away. Deaf people suffer worse health than their hearing counterparts, partly because they just give up trying to see a doctor.

Your sponsor money will be greatly appreciated by me and SignHealth, and will help the charity's efforts to bring about equality of access to healthcare for Deaf people. Many many thanks.

If you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
