Story

Hello, Thank you for all your donations and messages, they both meant a huge amount.  I completed the marathon in 3hrs and 5minutes with some sore legs and little bit of sunburn.

************Previous message*****************

I'm running this years London Marathon for a couple of reasons, 1. I clearly didn't put enough effort in last time, and 2. In honour of my Dad, Alex.

Alex died last year of cancer, and is still sorely missed.  During the time he had cancer Macmillan Cancer Support became a vital link within his, and our family's, care.  I want to use this marathon as a way of ensuring that this important resource is maintained.

As scoring the winning try in a Calcutta cup match is out of the question, I can think of no better way to honour my Dad than to run the marathon, in clean, colour-coordinated kit.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, totally secure and the most efficient way for the chairty plus if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you so much for visiting this webpage.

Neil.
