You will no doubt be aware of the tragic story of how Luke Holland aged 14 was killed in a traffic accident in January and how his father Neil was critically injured. Neil acknowledges that he owes his life to the air ambulance service who were able to stabilise his condition and whisk him away and have him in intensive care in London within 20 minutes. Neil spent a few weeks in a coma but thankfully his condition improved and he returned home to be with his wife Sally. Neil has worked so hard to regain his mobility and fitness and is once again very active.
British10k London Run
In recognition of the fantastic work performed by the air ambulance a number of Neil’s fit and less fit friends have decided to join the British10k London Run in Hyde Park in the summer to raise funds for this service. We have runners registered with both the Surrey & London Air Ambulance Service team for the event. Whilst these events are fresh in peoples’ minds we are asking anyone who would like to support us to sponsor this amazing cause.
Neil's Runners:- Jerry Hamilton, Grant Ashley, Will Clemson, Simon Goddard, Alan Self, Chris Trodd, Bob Middlemiss, Jane Middlemiss, Roger Bayliss, Neil Cummins, Shane Stitt, Kati Salmon, Chris Self, Doug Self, Nikki Garnham, Susie Cumming, Hazel Ratcliff, Christina Lethbridge, Simon Tonge. David Owen & Chris Cordell.
5K Cross Country Challenge
The Brockham Badgers U12B lads (and some willing parents!) are running a 5K course around Brockham & Betchworth as their gesture of support for the Holland family, and in aid of Surrey Air Ambulance. The run will be held on Saturday 31st May starting from Brockham Green at 10.30am.
Your donations can be as little as you like and can be entered on this site right now along with the Neils runners event to be held in July please add 5K CCC in your comments. Any questions about the Cross Country Challenge please call Duncan Hanwell on 01306 888833
All we ask is that you help us to produce a small but positive outcome to this tragic story by making a donation and supporting this incredible service.
Thank you
