Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As many of you are aware my nephew Charlie Hibbert has been very poorly recently and is currently receiving ongoing treatment as an out-patient in the Renal Department of Pendlebury Childrens Hospital. 

I'm hoping to raise funds for Kidney Research UK which is an established charity but one which receives little recognition.  Sadly chronic kidney disease is set to rise so the work of this worthy charity is becoming more important. Money raised goes towards research projects, some of which are at Manchester University and their aim is to look at treatments and improving early diagnosis.

Now to the funny bit.  I'm attempting my first triathlon, yes you might not think I'm an 'Iron Man' but I'm going for it.!  I'm doing the Mazda London Triathlon; that comprises a 1500m swim in the Victoria Dock (loads of cold muddy water), a 40km bike ride and a 10km run.  We're all going to London for the weekend, Charlie included - no doubt he giggle at me in my wetsuit and bright coloured swimming cap (purely for safety reasons you understand) and at 6.30am on 10th August I'll be off!!!!!
